NATIONAL BADGE FOR VICTORY DAY OF BANGLADESH

Proposal

People of different countries celebrate their national days wearing various kinds of badges. In Bangladesh we wear a black badge on the occasion of 21st February (International Mother Language day). During the war of independence (Muktijuddah) in 1971 millions of people sacrificed their lives. After nine months of bloody war, Bangladesh emerged as an independent country on 16th December. Since then we observe December 16th as our victory day (called “BIJOY DIBOSH”). This is very important day for the nation.

In my opinion, we can celebrate that day wearing a special badge. Irrespective of our political, religious and social position, I like to propose all Bangladeshi to wear a same badge from 1st December to 16th December of each year.

I also like to place a humble proposal to the Government of Bangladesh to approve a badge as illustrated above for the aforesaid purpose.

DIMENSION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED BADGE

A circle of 4cm(variable) diameter will be divided into two equal parts. Upper half circle will be RED rising sun, which signifies the national victory after long bloody war. In the middle of the red rising sun there is an upward pointing yellow isosceles triangle. The upward pointing triangle itself represents the growth of the national development and the inside yellow color represents the light of freedom torched by the freedom fighters through mass sacrifices. The Lower half of the circle will be divided into two equal parts. The upper half of that part will be green; illustrating the national beauty of Bangladesh and the bottom most part will be white, which symbolizes peace and tranquility.

I strongly hope and believe that all Bangladeshi as well as the GOVERNMENT OF BANGLADESH will come forward to support this great idea to celebrate our “Victory Day” and to pay respect to the martyrs of Muktijuddah.

Thanking you,
